School Coordinator at SiS Youth Home Bärby
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Bärby, located outside Uppsala, receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse.
Job Description
At Bärbyskolan, we offer education at the primary and secondary school levels (IMA), and most of the young people who come to us want to attend school. We are now looking for a school coordinator. As a school coordinator, you will play a central role in the school's organization by acting as a link between school management, teachers, students, and departments. This role is new at Bärby, and you are expected to contribute to creating relevant work content and how it should be executed.
The main responsibility is to ensure that the school's daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This may involve having an overview of the school day. The school coordinator often works closely with school management to implement the school's policies and strategies, as well as to support teachers and students in their daily work.
To succeed in the role of school coordinator, good organizational and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team. Experience in administrative work and knowledge of the school's operations are advantageous. The school coordinator must also be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and contacts simultaneously, as the workday can be varied and sometimes unpredictable. The role is crucial in creating a positive and well-functioning school environment where both staff and students can reach their full potential.
Qualifications
Relevant education such as social pedagogue, teaching assistant, or teacher in leisure activities.
Experience
You have worked within the school system and have experience with youth with special needs. It is advantageous if you have also worked with youth placed in HVB homes or in closed youth care.
You should also have:
- Driver's license B

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
